Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamt of working at [large corporation] in [large city]. I’d imagine swiping into that tall, brutalist building with a smile on my face, dressed in business-casual attire, eager to work a minimum 9-to-5 and some more on the weekends.
I began elementary school as a self-driven visionary. By third grade, I was adding together double-digit numbers, eager to learn the very foundations of the art of calculating shareholder value. Lunchtime became an opportunity to hone the art of negotiation and advocating for my needs: I knew, for example, that Lunchables Pepperoni Pizza was significantly more desirable than the meager carrots and hummus my mother would pack for me every morning. I also knew that mechanical pencils, especially the fancy clear ones, carried more social weight among my peers than the ugly Ticonderoga #2 pencils I was used to and switched to using them permanently. At such a young age, I had an innate sense of when I could profit by advocating for my own interests.
I was also a thought-leader on the playground, bringing unique perspectives as to what game my friends would play daily. Where others would suggest Tag, I would suggest games like Mafia (a game of charisma, acting as a team player, and gathering data to deliver an informed decision), or even Hide-and-Seek (making a guess of best judgment and a test of patience). The playground taught me the hard rules of life that I continue to rely on and build today.
College helped me upskill and hone my abilities. These past four years have been an invaluable era of rumination and reflection. In group projects, what skeptics called “the bare minimum,” I called using a small opportunity to make a big impact. Roommate disputes became an opportunity to unapologetically justify my actions and morals. I discovered that traditional sleep schedules don’t appeal to me, proving my natural familiarity with the corporate lifestyle.
Dedicating years to skill development is why, as an incoming 2026 Analyst at [large corporation], I’m excited to bring a new, refreshing vision to this challenging and fulfilling role. I’d like to thank [large corporation CEO] for giving me a chance and seeing my potential. I intend to bring actionable perspectives that will benefit the company and assist it in achieving its admirable commitments to profitability.
