Following the success of the new three-part Netflix docuseries “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” Netflix has announced that the Reality Check franchise will continue with every new season investigating a recent American failure. The new season will star former Columbia University President Minouche Shafik, giving the inside scoop on campus events and controversies from the last three years.
This docuseries has been in development since late 2024, after Shafik resigned from her position and made a quick escape to the United Kingdom. Netflix sent its unpaid interns on a 9-month journey to scour the English countryside, eventually finding Shafik huddled in a cave in Cockermouth, Cumbria. One traumatized intern reported, “she was a monster. Luminous red eyes, spindly limbs, wrinkles as far as the eye can see. It was unmistakably her.”
This season, like the Next Top Model edition, mainly consists of Shafik talking shit about everything and everyone associated with Columbia. Before one intern was fired for whistleblowing, he bravely captured a few short clips of Shafik from the rough cut. Notable quotes include: “Shipman can suck my fat ass, and I bet she’d like it ‘cause she–…Butler ain’t even that nice, you don’t know what the hell I’ve done in those bathrooms…Mnookin be Mlookin’ for clout by taking over Columbia, but that ho can’t get none of my fame!”
The premier will take place on the last day of classes this semester. We at The Fed will be hiding in Cockermouth before shit hits the fan.
